Seven new players are selected by Zimbabwe for the Ireland ODIs. -Zimbabwe has named a new-look team for the three upcoming ODIs against Ireland, calling up seven new faces who weren’t part of the team that participated in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in June and July. Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, and Brad Evans were ruled out of the series due to injuries.

Just Faraz Akram, Brandon Mavuta, Milton Shumba, Tony Munyonga, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, and Tanaka Chivanga are uncapped in ODIs.

Tendai Chatara, Wessly Madhevere, and Tadiwanashe Marumani were not selected, and Captain Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, and Brad Evans were all declared out of the series due to injuries. In Ervine’s absence, Sikandar Raza will lead Zimbabwe. The Harare Sports Club will host the three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on December 13, 15, and 17.

Zimbabwe could not qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and will not be awarded the 2025 Champions Trophy since they did not place in the top two of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

In addition, they lost their T20I series to Ireland 2-1 and were not selected for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA or the West Indies.

Sikandar Raza (captain), Faraz Akram, Ryan Burl, Tanaka Chivanga, Joylord Gumbie, Luke Jongwe, Innocent Kaia, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Clive Madande, Wellington Masakadza, Brandon Mavuta, Tony Munyonga, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, and Milton Shumba are the Zimbabwean team for the Ireland ODIs.
