India IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Multiple States Till October 3:An area of low pressure in the Eastcentral Arabian Sea, near the south Konkan-Goa coasts, is expected to develop into a well-marked low-pressure area over the next 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Additionally, another low-pressure area over the Northeast and adjacent Eastcentral Bay of Bengal is likely to become a well-marked low-pressure area and move northwestwards towards the north Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coasts over the next 48 hours.

The IMD’s weather forecast includes expectations of light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy rainfall, in several regions:

  • “Andaman & Nicobar Islands Expected to Experience Rainfall Until October 1”
  • Gangetic West Bengal until October 1.
  • Odisha on October 3.
  • Jharkhand and Bihar until October 3.
  • “Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim Anticipate Rainfall on October 2 and 3”

The IMD also predicts squally weather with wind speeds of 45-55, gusting to 65, in the Andaman Islands on September 30. Furthermore, it anticipates light to moderate rainfall, fairly widespread to widespread, with isolated heavy rainfall in Konkan-Goa and Madhya Maharashtra from September 29 to October 1. Rainfall is also expected in Chhattisgarh until October 2, and in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh on various dates until October 3.

Additionally, the IMD notes that conditions are becoming favorable for the further withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of Northwest and adjoining Westcentral India in the next two days.
