Fresh Snowfall Enhances Winter Charm in Kashmir Valley – Gulmarg and Doodhpathri, beloved tourist destinations in Kashmir, were blanketed in fresh snowfall on Thursday, creating picturesque landscapes. Simultaneously, the plains experienced rain, contributing to a noticeable drop in temperatures across the valley.
Kashmir weather forecasts a 30% chance of snow in Shopian district, south Kashmir, with the remaining plains anticipating snowfall later in the evening. A decline in temperatures is expected during the evening and early morning, with the possibility of light snow in some plains if moderate rainfall persists.
The report suggests waiting for the season’s inaugural snowfall if the current conditions don’t lead to widespread snow. Weather conditions are anticipated to ameliorate from Friday morning, with the likelihood of a brief spell of snowfall in certain higher-elevation areas. A weak western disturbance is predicted to induce cloudy weather over the weekend, while the upcoming week is expected to feature predominantly dry conditions.
Night temperatures witnessed improvement across Kashmir, with Srinagar, the summer capital, recording a minimum temperature of 5.3 degrees Celsius. Qazigund settled at 5.0 degrees Celsius, and Pahalgam registered 1.5 degrees Celsius. Konibal and Gulmarg reported a low of minus 1.0 degree Celsius each.
As the enchanting winter season unfolds, Kashmir Valley becomes a serene haven with its snow-clad landscapes and a promise of more wintry delights in the days ahead.
