Actor Adan Canto from X-Men and Narcos who died after a covert fight with appendiceal cancer?
The TV shows The Cleaning Lady and X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as Agent Game, are where Adan Canto gained the most notoriety.
Adan Canto, a 42-year-old Mexican actor and musician best known for his parts in the TV shows The Cleaning Lady and X-Men: Days of Future Past, also passed suddenly on Monday.

Canto chose to keep his disease a secret and passed away from appendiceal cancer, publicist Jennifer Allen told The Associated Press. Few people really understood the depth of Dan’s spirit. Whoever caught a sight of it was eternally altered. Many people will miss him terribly, Allen said in a statement.

Adan Canto was raised in Del Rio, Texas, and followed an early career in music after being born on December 5, 1981, in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, according to Variety. He composed music for a number of Mexican motion pictures and television series before making his stage debut in Pedro Almodóvar’s All About My Mother. In 2009, he made his TV debut on Estado de Gracia. Te presento a Laura by Fez Noriega was his debut motion picture.
In the 2013 season of Kevin Williamson’s criminal thriller The Following, starring Kevin Bacon, he made his screen debut in America. The AP report went on to say that Canto’s noteworthy roles included those of the mutant Sunspot in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Colombian politician Rodrigo Lara Bonilla in Narcos, Vice President-elect Aaron Shore in Designated Survivor, and Agent Game. Canto also starred in Halle Berry’s directorial debut, Bruised. The actor founded Canto House Pictures, his own production company, in 2013.

At the time of his passing, Adan Canto was filming the third season of Fox’s The Cleaning Lady, in which he portrayed Armand Morales. His illness prevented him from taking part in the play, but he hoped to return later in the season.

“We are devastated to hear of Adan Canto’s loss. We were honored to have him as a member of the Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment families since his US premiere in The Following over ten years ago. He is a fantastic actor and a close friend. His most recent performance, in “The Cleaning Lady,” lit up the screen with a spectacular performance that highlighted his vulnerability, range, and skill. We are in deep sorrow together with his wife Stephanie, their kids, and other loved ones over this inexplicable loss. Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment released a joint statement saying, “We will miss Adan dearly,” Variety said.

Kiefer Sutherland, who costarred with Adan Canto on Designated Survivor, posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram after learning of Adan Canto’s passing. He said, “It seems lately I have had to make too many posts like this one, but I am heartbroken by the loss of Adan Canto.” He has such a lovely soul. He will be sorely missed. As an actor, his drive to perform well, to be great, and then to do more, was truly astounding. His wife Steph and their two small children also break my heart. May you rest in peace, Adan.
Canto leaves behind two children, Roman Alder, age 3, and Eve Josephine, age 18 months, together with his wife Stephanie Ann Canto. On her Instagram page, his wife wrote, “Forever my treasure Adan, see you soon.” Stephanie posted a touching photo of herself with Canto and commented, “Forever my treasure, Adan,” from Matthew 6:19–21 from the Bible. See you shortly.
